Buffy star Nicholas Brendon won’t comment on Joss Whedon allegations as he undergoes surgery for paralysed penis
Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s Nicholas Brendon said he isn’t ready to speak about the allegations against Joss Whedon as he needs to undergo emergency spinal surgery and focus on his health.
The actor, who played Buffy’s close friend Xander Harris, said he is about to undergo urgent spinal surgery after injuring his back in an accident, which has resulted in his penis and anus being paralysed.
Allegations against Buffy‘s writer and creator Whedon have been pouring in over recent days. Buffy and Angel star Charisma Carpenter accused Whedon of creating a “hostile and toxic” environment on set.
Her words prompted others including Amy Acker, James Marsters, Michelle Trachtenberg, Eliza Dushku, David Boreanaz and even Buffy-herself Sarah Michelle Geller to speak out about the claims.
Brendon posted a lengthy video on his Facebook page, sharing that he wouldn’t comment on the allegations against Whedon until he could “come up with a statement that represents me” as he “had a relationship” with the show creator.
He explained: “I’m not speaking on Joss yet.
“It’s very personal for me so I’ll speak on that when I’m ready to speak on that because he and I had a relationship.
“It’s a big part of my life, a very emotional part of my life and I want to give it the proper respect and time that it deserves.
“When things happen in life like this with social media and stuff, it’s hard for me.
“It makes me sick. It’s not just something I want to make a comment on, do you know what I mean?
“If you don’t mind, I’m going to get some spinal surgery tomorrow and heal and come up with a statement that represents me.”

Brandon explained he feels nauseous all the time after slipping on ice and hurting his back earlier this month. He shared: “My anus is kinda paralysed and so is my penis, which is weird.
“I gotta sit down to p**s because I don’t know if I’m s**tting or p**sing.
“It’s crazy. Good times is what I say.”
Brendon’s partner Sarah Allison later took over his social media, sharing a post on Instagram saying that Brendon is out of surgery. She said the doctor said “he’s doing well” and that he will say hello “once he’s feeling up to it”.
