Days Gone is the first of a new wave of PlayStation exclusives launching on PC
Starting with Days Gone, Sony is bringing several PlayStation games exclusively to PC this spring.
Sony Interactive CEO Jim Ryan has confirmed that there will be a host of PlayStation exclusives released on PC, sharing the news in an interview with British GQ.
As well as talking about the PlayStation VR console that is being developed, when asked why Sony held back for a long time on releasing PlayStation games on PC, Ryan stated: “We find ourselves now in early 2021 with our development studios and the games that they make in better shape than they’ve ever been before. Particularly from the latter half of the PS4 cycle, our studios made some wonderful, great games.”
He continued: “There’s an opportunity to expose those great games to a wider audience and recognise the economics of game development, which are not always straightforward.
“The cost of making games goes up with each cycle, as the caliber of the IP has improved. Also, our ease of making it available to non-console owners has grown. So it’s a fairly straightforward decision for us to make.”
Developer Bend Studios confirmed the news via Twitter, teasing: “Stay tuned for more details.”

So far only one game has been confirmed – Days Gone but it’s been rumoured that gaming fans can expect the likes of The Last of Us Part II and God of War.
Last March, the once console-only game Horizon Zero Dawn was confirmed by SIE for a PC port. The release came over the summer. Rumours at the time also suggested Bloodbourne, Gran Turismo, and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection would also be released, but a representative at Sony denied the rumours.
