Dan Levy started an adorable new Saturday Night Live tradition
Canadian actor and showrunner Dan Levy is responsible for Saturday Night Live‘s latest wholesome, heartwarming tradition.
Levy – whose comedy series Schitt’s Creek won two Golden Globes – left a sticky note in the dressing room after his debut hosting SNL with words of encouragement for the upcoming host, actor Regina King. King, who starred in Watchmen and had a longstanding role in The Big Bang Theory, shared a picture of Levy’s note when she arrived to host the late-night show.
The note from Levy read: “Regina! You got this!”
King, who is also a first-time host of SNL, replied to the message via an Instagram story. She said: “Awww. You’re the best. You crushed it!”
Inspired by Levy’s kind gesture, King decided to keep the tradition alive by leaving her own note for the next host of SNL, Regé-Jean Page. The Bridgerton star then followed King’s lead and posted an update on his Instagram story with the same mirror selfie.
King follows Levy’s confidence-boosting tone by telling Page: “You are going to be amazing! I’m a huge fan!”
Page thanked King for her support, adding that the “feeling is mutual”.
Page then solidified Levy’s sticky note tradition by leaving a kind note for musician and host Nick Jonas, who hosted SNL at the end of February. Jonas pulled double duty as both host and musical guest, and he shared a picture of his own note penned by Page.
The message read: “Just have the BEST time, Nick!”
“That’s the plan,” Jonas tweeted.

But it’ll be a while before fans find out if Jonas left his own note.
It was announced on Sunday (28 February) that the SNL cast will be taking a break. The long-running skit show has been filming each episode with pandemic safety protocols in place. SNL had started with six consecutive episodes last year but took a holiday break towards the end of 2020.
SNL will not air a new episode on 6 March. Instead, it will play a rerun from the 19 December episode hosted by Kristen Wig with musical guest Dua Lipa.
The show is set to resume on 27 March, and it was announced that Maya Rudolph will host with Jack Harlow as the musical guest.
