Snowflake Piers Morgan quits Good Morning Britain in wake of ‘diabolical’ Meghan Markle row
Piers Morgan has “decided” to leave Good Morning Britain following his “diabolical” comments about Meghan Markle.
On Monday’s (8 March) episode of Good Morning Britain, the day after Meghan Markle‘s interview with Oprah Winfrey aired on ITV, Morgan declared he did not “believe a word” she had said.
During the interview, the former duchess said she had experienced suicidal thoughts after marrying Prince Harry amid a media witch hunt, and detailed how the palace failed to support her while she was experiencing racist abuse.
The next day, weather presenter Alex Beresford described Morgan’s behaviour as “diabolical”, leading him to walk off set. It was also revealed that his comments were being investigated by OFCOM, after the media watchdog received 41,000 complaints.
Now, ITV has confirmed that Morgan has “decided” to leave the popular breakfast show.
It said in a statement: “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain.
“ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”

Morgan has not addressed the announcement, but shortly before tweeted a gif of a ticking clock.
Thousands previously called for Piers Morgan to resign, accusing him of ‘dehumanising’ trans people
Piers Morgan, once compared to a “honey glazed gammon”, has become known for his aggressive interview style during his six years as host of Good Morning Britain.
Over that time, he has also made a habit of mocking the LGBT+ community, and regularly making “jokes” about trans people.
He has described gender-fluid people as “absurd”, and said they are “damaging society”, and in one interview with a non-binary person, became obsessed with asking about their genitals.
Morgan’s favourite joke, which he has used time and time and time again, is to claim he “identifies” as various animals or made-up gender identities.
Presumably hoping that one day someone will laugh, Piers Morgan has identified as “Arsenal tragic gender”, “trans-slender”, a giraffe, a squirrel and a “two spirit penguin”.
