Milo Yiannapolous declares himself ‘ex-gay’ and wants to ‘rehabilitate conversion therapy’. Seriously
Self-titled “pop star of hate” Milo Yiannopoulos now describes himself as “ex-gay” and “sodomy free” as he attempts to return to the public eye via the religious right.
The alt-right troll confessed his “sins of the flesh” in an interview with the Christian outlet LifeSite News, revealing that he is now dedicating his life to St Joseph and will be leading a daily consecration to the saint online.
Characteristically flippant throughout, Yiannopoulos compared his homosexual “degeneracy” to an addiction and claimed he’d only leaned into it to troll liberals.
“When I used to kid that I only became gay to torment my mother, I wasn’t entirely joking,” he said.
“Of course, I was never wholly at home in the gay lifestyle — Who is? Who could be? — and only leaned heavily into it in public because it drove liberals crazy to see a handsome, charismatic, intelligent gay man riotously celebrating conservative principles.
“That’s not to say I didn’t throw myself enthusiastically into degeneracy of all kinds in my private life. I suppose I felt that’s all I deserved. I’d love to say it was all an act, and I’ve been straight this whole time, but even I don’t have that kind of commitment to performance art. Talk about method acting.”
Yiannopoulos, who was raised Catholic and previously said he would “cure” his sexuality if he could, claimed his husband has been “demoted to housemate” as he embraces his new, heterosexual lifestyle.
“It feels as though a veil has been lifted in my house — like there’s something more real and honest going on than before,” he said. “It’s been a gradual uncovering, rather than a dramatic reveal. Maybe that lack of theatre or spectacle is a sign the gay impulses truly are receding?”
What’s certain is that his precious cash flow has been receding. The former Breitbart editor previously admitted he risks being no longer able to put food on the table after being permanently banned from Twitter and Facebook in 2019 for violating hate speech rules.
He is now relegated to fringe platforms Gab, Parler and Telegram, but says he is unable to build a sufficient following there.
Sure enough, Yiannopoulos’ newfound sexuality comes with a whole new career direction.
“As you might expect, my professional priorities are shifting somewhat, given my new spiritual preoccupations,” he said. “Over the next decade, I would like to help rehabilitate what the media calls ‘conversion therapy.’ It does work, albeit not for everybody.”
Some things never change though: Yiannopoulos just couldn’t resist the urge to mock his fellow “ex-gays”, condemn “demonic” transgender people and threaten to hang drag queens.
“Don’t even get me started on Drag Queen Story Hour. I only have to see those four words to be overwhelmed by the urge to buy rope,” he said. Saintlike indeed.
