Married at First Sight Australia to introduce first bisexual groom in explosive new series
Married At First Sight Australia is set to get its first ever bisexual groom as its explosive 2021 season continues.
The show, which sees total strangers get married after being set up by relationship experts, will introduce bisexual prison case manager Liam Cooper in the current eighth season.
Cooper, 29, from Brisbane, will be paired with Georgia Fairweather, 25, an entrepreneur who runs her own bikini business and works as an events manager.
He is expected to tell Georgia that he is bisexual at their wedding reception.
A source told the Daily Mail that he was worried Fairweather “would not react to the news well” – however, she was apparently accepting and understanding of her new partner’s sexuality.
“It all panned out in the end,” the source said, adding that Cooper is now looking to settle down and start a family.
Bisexual Married at First Sight contestant likes to ‘stir the pot’
According to an official profile released by Channel Nine, Cooper is “colourful” and “likes to speak his mind and stir the pot when he’s bored”.

“He describes himself as an Aussie bogan, growing up on a farm and riding horses,” the profile reads.
He now dates women “exclusively”, but he still identifies as bisexual.
“Getting older, he doesn’t want to find people who only want to hook up – rather, Liam is in search to find someone and settle down,” the bio says.
Cooper has been single for the last six years and has generally avoided dating since his last relationship ended because “people find him too much”.
Married at First Sight Australia broke new ground when it introduced its first lesbian couple, Tash Herz and Amanda Micallef, in its seventh season.
While the couple were hugely popular among LGBT+ viewers, their romance didn’t last, and they later went their separate ways.
Herz later opened up about the vile homophobia they were subjected to by viewers ahead of the season’s premiere in the United States.
