Drag Race UK’s most iconic queens reunite for a drive-in drag tour
The stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK are appearing in a huge drive-in drag tour.
It’s part of The Parking Lot social which will bring live shows and film screenings to outdoor venues throughout the country this spring.
The DriveTime Drag tour will head to cities including Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol and Glasgow with a different lineup of queens for each show.
Already confirmed to appear on the tour is Drag Race UK season one runner-up Divina de Campo alongside Baga Chipz, Cheryl Hole, Vinegar Strokes and Gothy Kendoll.
They’ll be joined by season two contestants Tayce, Ginny Lemon and Ellie Diamond, with more names to be announced in the coming months.
A future winner could be on the tour as Tayce and Ellie will compete against Lawrence Chaney and Bimini to snatch the crown in the much-anticipated series finale of Drag Race UK later this week.
The runaway success of the franchise has contributed to the return of BBC Three as a linear broadcast channel rather than a digital platform via iPlayer.
This means that Drag Race UK will soon be showcased on prime time television, where the stars of the show who have made it so successful belong.
The DriveTime Drag show promises, “high-energy performances, comedy and fierce looks” in a live spectacular that’ll take place between 12 April and 29 May.
Ticket holders will be able to watch the shows from the comfort of their own car at a safe distance from others, as the shows will take place under government restrictions.
The event organisers have also confirmed that customers will receive an automatic refund of all ticket costs and fees if the events are cancelled as a result of the ongoing pandemic.
Other events taking place include stand-up comedians, film screenings of The Greatest Showman, The Wizard of Oz and Mrs Doubtfire as well as DJ sets, quizzes and bingo.
Tickets for the DriveTime Drag tour are available from Ticketmaster here. They’re priced between £47.80-£58, per car.
