Caitlyn Jenner went on The Masked Singer to prove an important point to trans kids
Caitlyn Jenner appeared on The Masked Singer to show trans kids “you can live your life authentically”.
Jenner, 71, was unmasked just after one performance on the costumed singing competition after she appeared under the guise of Phoenix.
As she opened her performance, Pheonix said: “When people see me, they always see a winner baby. But while I’ve graced the cover of many magazines, I’ve actually hidden behind a mask for most of my life.”
She then launched into a rendition of Kesha‘s “TikTok”, which failed to impress the judges, who voted for Phoenix to be the second star eliminated from the competition.

After her appearance on The Masked Singer, Caitlyn Jenner told People that she is not a “singer or dancer” and that she went on The Masked Singer to show “young people that you can go through this”.
“You can live your life authentically and still have life out there,” Jenner said.
Jenner added that she wants to be “able to change that next generation that’s coming along”.
“The most important thing I feel like I can do is continue to be visible,” Jenner explained. “Continue to show people who have to deal with a subject like this that life isn’t over.”
Caitlyn Jenner added that she thought more young people identify as trans because of the “internet and information that’s out there”, but she said “education is by far the most important thing”.
During her appearance on The Masked Singer, Jenner was asked how her daughters Kendall and Kylie Jenner might react to seeing her on the show.
She replied: “They’ve always known their dad is a little crazy and will try anything. Life’s short – you’ve got to enjoy it.”
Caitlyn Jenner’s exit came after The Masked Singer unveiled its most surprising – but probably the most easily recognised – star ever when Kermit The Frog was unmasked.
