Actor Miriam Margolyes ‘did a couple of exhausting sex tapes’

Lesbian actor Miriam Margolyes revealed that she has done “a couple of sex tapes”, which she described as “exhausting”, in an appearance on This Morning.
Margolyes was discussing her past voiceover work with hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, when Schofield asked her about work she had done that was “slightly less family-orientated”.
Appearing from her house in sunny Tuscany and using uncharacteristically polite language, the actor said that she was being “very careful” as This Morning producers had told her to not “saying anything nasty”.
But Miriam Margolyes did not need a lot of convincing, quickly admitting: “Well, I did a couple of sex tapes.”
As Schofield and Willoughby roared with laughter, she continued: “Sexy Sonia: Leaves from my Schoolgirl Diary, that was one of them. But I have to stress, they were audio tapes, they were not visual.
“They’re very exhausting. Because when you’re simulating orgasm, as all of you out there know, it’s tiring and you get a headache.
“It’s not a question of having a headache at the beginning, it’s a headache at the end. So I haven’t done them again.”
She added: “£300 was all I got in those days. It was at the Ann Summers sex shop, I expect you know it well. That’s where I auditioned.”

On This Morning, Miriam Margolyes explained that she had spent lockdown in her house in Tuscany, and had not yet received a vaccine.
The unwaveringly blunt actor also discussed the pandemic in a January appearance on Good Morning Britain, when she said: “I’m hoping I get a vaccine as soon as possible. I’m 79 so I’m not quite 80 yet – I’ll be 80 in May. I may be able to have it in Italy before I come [back to the UK].”
She added: “But I’m not going to England until it’s safe to go. I mean you’ve got that clown in charge there that I didn’t vote for and I’m holding him responsible for a lot of this mess.”
