Official first look teaser for Daedalic’s new Gollum game is sure to thrill Lord of the Rings fans

A new, world-exclusive gameplay trailer of Lord of the Rings: Gollum has been released by developers Daedalic, and it looks pretty creepy and immersive.

The trailer was released on 26 March, and gives a detailed look at the world of Middle-Earth and Gollum’s treacherous journey across well-known landmarks from The Lord of the Rings, starting, it seems, in Mordor.

It’s been two years since Daedalic Entertainment first announced the game back in 2019, and LOTR fans have been anticipating what the plot of Lord of the Rings: Gollum will look like.

As you can see from the mini teaser on Twitter, the Tolkien-based stealth game features our titular jewellery collector roaming in and around the neighbourhood of Mount Doom, and perhaps the poisoned bowels of Isengard.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will focus on Gollum’s struggle with his personality. Reports suggest that players will have to choose between siding with “evil” Gollum or the more kind-hearted Sméagol.

The game will incorporate a vast swathe of Gollum’s story, including his time with the elves in Mirkwood and has a big focus on stealth: Gollum creeps around in the shadows and silently disposes of enemies.

Despite there being no official release date set for the game, we do know is that it’s coming at some point in 2022 as the game has recently been delayed. It has also been confirmed that it is coming to PS5, Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft’s current generation of Xbox consoles including the Xbox Series X|S.
