Here’s the full April 2021 lineup for Games with Gold, including Vikings: Wolves of Midgard
For Games with Gold members, here are your Xbox free games for April.
Four games are being added to the service, which is available on all Xbox consoles: Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.
First up is Vikings: Wolves of Midgard. Originally released in 2017, the game is free throughout April. It’s from Slovak studio Games Farm and is a Diablo-style action RPG set in a fantasy world based on Norse mythology.
Next is FIA European Truck Racing Championship, which will be available from 16 April to 15 May. It’s the official game of the big truck championship.
Lastly, two Xbox 360 games will be made available for free through the consoles’ backwards compatibility feature. From 1 April to 15 April Xbox Live Gold members can get Dark Void, which mixes on-foot combat and flight in an alternative history of humanity fighting an alien invasion pre-World War II.
Then from 15 April to 30 April, Hard Corps: Uprising will be available. It’s a spin-off of the Contra series of classic side-scrolling shooters with a high octane anime aesthetic.
The addition of these new games means now is your last chance to pick up March’s free games: online shooter Warface: Breakout and naval simulator Port Royale 3. Vicious Attack Llama Apocalypse (yes really) is still available until 15 April.
Xbox Live Gold membership costs around £9.99 a month and provides access to a rotation of free games, exclusive store discounts and online multiplayer.
The free games are also available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, who have access along with the hundreds of other games on Game Pass.
Xbox have just added a bunch of new games to Game Pass too, including queer indie hit Undertale, Star Wars: Squadrons, Yakuza 6 and Nier: Automata.
Also added is the JRPG Octopath Traveller, previously a Nintendo Switch console exclusive.
