Gyms are reopening soon, so why not treat yourself to new leggings? Here are some of the best around
Gyms are expected to soon reopen in England as part of the government’s roadmap out of lockdown.
If the easing of restrictions is successful then indoor exercise will be able to take place from 12 April.
This means that we’ll all be able to be “up in the gym, just working on our fitness”, just like Fergie would want.
You might be somebody who’s been itching to get back to the gym throughout lockdown, or someone who has been waiting to sign up once things start to go back to normal.
Whatever the case, it might also be time to refresh your workout wardrobe, including leggings and tights.
While exercising it’s important to be comfortable in what you’re wearing and also be able to move easily during different workout routines.
We’ve put together a list of some ideal leggings and tights that are ideal for every body below.
These new innovative leggings are from brand Modibodi. They’re designed for comfort and protection from periods, bladder leakage and discharge during workouts thanks to the super-absorbent, stain, odour and bacteria-resistant lining.
Plus they’re also a win for the environment because they eliminate the need for disposable sanitary items and are crafted from 78 per cent recycled material. They’re priced at £55 and come in sizes eight to 18 from the Modibodi website.
These tights are part of the plus size range on Nike. They’re in the compression and base layer section of the website which means they can be worn as they are or with shorts over them. They’re designed for high-intensity training as they have sweat-wicking power and mesh panels for breathability.
They’re priced at £34.95 from the Nike website, and a similar design is available in the standard range here in sizes four to 26.
If you’re looking to find your Zen once lockdown is over then yoga is the way, but you’ll need to make sure you’ve got the right clothing. You can get these shorts as part of the Nike Yoga Dri-FIT range which feature Infinalon fabric which is soft while providing a gentle compression as you breathe, stretch and move. They’re priced at £39.95 and come in a number of different colours from Nike here.
Meanwhile the women’s yoga collection can be found on the website here.
If you want some gym leggings that are a little more colourful then you can get these camo ones in blue from the Nike Pro range. They aim to keep the wearer feel supported and comfortable with a tight, stretchy design and can be worn solo or layered with shorts for your preferred exercise.
They also come in a more muted grey colour and are available from Nike here.
If you’re after shorts designed for faster pace exercise, these ones are ideal. They’re stretchy, with a sweat-wicking layer of support to keep you dry and moving freely. The shorts are typically teamed up with other loose fitting shorts or trousers during exercise. They’re available from Nike here.
You can also browse the entire collection of compression and base layer shorts, leggings and tights for men and women on the Nike website here.
If you’re after high-waisted leggings then you can get this pair from Adidas for £22. They’re classed as loungewear leggings but are multi-purpose as the brand has created the sporty pair with comfort in mind, so you can use these for lighter workout activities. If you’re after more specific leggings like those suitable for high intensity exercise from Adidas then there’s loads to choose from here.
There’s also high-waisted leggings available from Nike here. You can filter down the choices for your preferred fit and colour.
