Gay porn star runs in Scottish parliament elections for far-right, notoriously homophobic party
Former gay porn star Philipp Tanzer is running as a candidate for a far-right political party that fiercely opposes any advancements in LGBT+ rights.
Tanzer, also known by his porn name Logan McCree, identified as gay until the age of 32. He then renounced his sexuality and entered into a relationship with a woman.
Now aged 43, Tanzer lives in the Scottish Highlands, where he is hoping to win a seat in the Scottish election in May.
Speaking ahead of the election, Tanzer said he had a “negative view” of the porn industry before he started his career as Logan McCree, but he signed up because he “needed the money”.
“One of the main reasons to run for the Scottish Family Party has been my experience and helping people learn from it,” Tanzer said, according to the Daily Mail.
“Porn is not a men’s problem. Both boys and girls consume pornography and both suffer under its impact.
“When I was younger I was not clear what path I would take. I was pushed into identifying myself as something at the age of 32 that I was not.”
He added: “The Scottish Family Party best represent my views on life and society.”
Former gay porn star Philipp Tanzer thinks schools are ‘forcing’ LGBT+ lifestyles on kids
In a March livestream for the Scottish Family Party, Tanzer insisted that they “do not hate or disrespect” the LGBT+ community.
“I used to be a gay porn actor and I know about the struggles and confusion of growing up, being unsure about my own sexuality and identity,” Tanzer said.
He said he fully supports the party’s stance on “removing gay and trans-affirming indoctrination from school” and claimed the UK’s education system is “forcing LGBT+ lifestyles and pornography on children”.
Tanzer went on to claim that it is “by no means” correct to affirm LGBT+ people’s identities, and said he pushed himself to date women because he felt something was “missing” in his life.
The Scottish Family Party is an anti-feminist, anti-choice and anti-LGBT+ political party that argues children should be raised by a “mum and a dad” so they can have male and female role models.
It also claims the gender pay gap only exists because men “take fewer career breaks” and are willing to do “more dangerous jobs”, while women “often want to dedicate themselves more to family life”.
The Scottish Family Party opposes hate crime legislation and is also against a ban on conversion therapy, believing LGBT+ people should be allowed to choose to go undergo the pseudoscientific and harmful practice.
Tanzer worked as a porn star for high-profile studios such as Raging Stallion over the course of three years before he left it all behind to become a “men’s rights activist” in Scotland.
Prior to his election bid, Tanzer was the subject of a 24-minute BBC documentary in 2020 in which he claimed he is “constantly being silenced” – despite the fact that he was given an entire documentary to air his views.
