Gamer hilariously recreates Lil Nas X’s bottoming anthem in Animal Crossing. Yes, really

Lil Nas X Animal Crossing

Lil Nas X’s “Montero” recreated in Animal Crossing? You’d better believe it.

With the popularity of music videos recreated in Nintendo’s Animal Crossing and “Montero” hitting number one, it was only a matter of time before the two worlds would collide.

Lil Nas X shared the video on his Twitter, as created by AlexiaofTorador.

The video begins with a custom design creation – named “Montero”, of course – before the character dresses as Lil Nas X and proceeds to twerk on the poor innocent Animal Crossing villagers. Plus, there’s always time for a dance in front of Tom Nook and Isabelle.

There’s no stripper pole in the game, so the only way to travel is by the reliable and traditional Dodo Airways plane straight to Hell.

He then twerks and performs in a recreation of fiery Hell, alongside various villager backing dancers, before taking his rightful place on the throne usurping red octopus Octavian as the reigning monarch.

All that accompanying the song itself. It’s as adorable as it is faintly disturbing.

The tweet gained plenty of engagement, with fans applauding the creator for the video’s cuteness. Now just imagine a KK Slider “Montero” cover – we’d love to see it.

Lil Nas X is no stranger to video games. In fact, he’s just released a Twerk Hero browser game where you can twerk on Satan’s lap yourself.

With its wildly jiggly butt physics, it’s a hilarious accompaniment to the number one smash bottoming anthem.

There have been plenty of Animal Crossing music videos, from Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s equally controversial WAP to a more innocent staging of the entirety of Hamilton. The creativity of players knows no bounds.

A year after its release and Animal Crossing: New Horizons remains as popular as ever, providing a creative outlet for many during lockdown.
