Frozen the Musical tickets

Frozen the Musical is heading to the West End in 2021 and tickets are going on sale today.

The much-anticipated musical adaption of Frozen will open at Theatre Royal Drury Lane on 8 September, with previews from 27 August.

Fans can get their hands on tickets – which are expected to be in high demand – at 12pm on 15 April through the LW Theatres website.

It was originally set to make its debut on the West End in October 2020, but due to the global pandemic it’s been pushed back to autumn 2021.

The musical features songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, who also penned the soundtrack for the Oscar-winning 2013 film and its sequel.

This includes fan favourites “Let It Go” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” alongside new material, while the show also promises ‘groundbreaking sets and stunning costumes’.

The story is similar to the film version as it takes audiences to the magical world of Arendelle and focuses on Elsa who is gifted with ice-manipulating powers.

She is also definitely a lesbian, and we won’t hear any disagreement on that matter thank you very much.

Alongside her sister Anna, the pair try to lead their nation but after tensions arise Elsa runs away from home and creates a guarded ice castle far, far away.

The West End adaption will star Samantha Banks and Stephanie McKeon star as Elsa and Anna who will appear alongside popular characters including Olaf and Kristoff, played by Craig Gallivan and Obioma Ugoala.

The musical premiered on Broadway in 2018 and followed up on the film’s success, receiving three Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Original Score.

Since its debut there are planned productions in Melbourne, Hamburg and Tokyo which are expected to open once restrictions are eased across the globe.
