Queer dominatrix teaching women how to ‘kick men in the balls’ in wake of Sarah Everard murder
Queer dominatrix Mistress Severin is an expert at “kicking men in the balls”.
As a professional dominatrix, she caters to many fetishes and kinks, including bondage, breath play, nipple torture, financial domination and even mummification.
But following the murder of Sarah Everard, and the outrage over the police response to a vigil in her honour, Mistress Severin came up with a way to put her vast array of skills to another use.
“There’s been a huge conversation at the moment surrounding women’s safety, and I think for me, I’d been seeing some things on Facebook and Twitter, women asking for recommendations for a self-defence course,” she told PinkNews.
“This is something that people would pay for, and that just doesn’t seem right.
“Women shouldn’t have to pay for these kind of things, it should be a given… I’d love to be able to provide something like that for women.”
So, she took to Twitter, telling her followers: “Considering hosting free self-defence classes for all womxn at my dungeon.
“I’m no expert when it comes to SD but I do expertly kick men in the balls often and put them in headlock so I’d just like to share that knowledge. Who’s in?”

Although it was a serious offer, she said the tweet was a “tongue-in-cheek” reference to her profession. But the response was “overwhelming”.
“I got tonnes of messages back, people were really into the idea, sharing their stories with me,” Mistress Severin said.
The dominatrix began putting her plan into action, thinking about what these self-defence classes would look like.
“Obviously it’s not going to be very conventional or traditional style of self-defence,” she said.
“Although I do plan to cover the basics like arm locks and head locks. But I also think it’s important to teach some more unconventional techniques, that I am pretty good at.”
She continued: “When you’re a dominatrix, your way of thinking is like nothing else. I could walk into a restaurant, or a pound shop, and I’ll pick up something that nobody would ever see [in this way], and think, ‘Oh, this would be perfect to tie around someone.’
“You just completely see things in a different way… So I want to get people thinking about the little things that might help you, that you can have on you, that might make you feel a little bit more secure.”
As well as physical self-defence, Mistress Severin also wants the sessions to include a “discussion on how to handle non-physical abuse, and how to deal with a situation before it potentially escalates”.
As a queer woman herself it was important, she said, for the sessions to be open to all womxn and non-binary folk – “Just no men.”
She added: “I particularly had trans women in mind when I thought of teaching people to diffuse non-physical situations, where they are being harassed verbally”.
For those who are unable to make it to Mistress Severin’s London dungeon, she said she’s planning to do “a little shoot, maybe a two-minute video clip with one of my slaves as my willing test dummy”.
The size of her dungeon means that classes will be small, but she plans to run the sessions regularly once coronavirus restrictions have eased.
Mistress Severin said it was important to stress: “There’s no guarantee that any of the things I teach will even be relevant if you’re in a situation, because obviously everybody responds to a traumatic situation in a different.
“I’m not guaranteeing that I’m going to save people’s lives, but I at least want women to be able to walk away feeling confident walking in the streets, and just generally feeling a bit more prepared.”
