It’s official: The Cock Destroyers have announced their break-up and fans are “absolutely devastated, heartbroken and gutted”.

Sex workers Rebecca More and Sophie Anderson rose to fame in 2018 thanks to a 69-second-long clip of them declaring themselves Cock Destroyers, and have cemented their place as true LGBT+ icons ever since.

But this week, rumours began to swirl that the pair had called it quits after a series of cryptic tweets.

On Thursday (May 6), the queer community went into mourning as the news was made official.

Anderson wrote on Twitter: “Hi my wonderful guys, girlies, and non-binary friends!

“You know I believe in only welcoming positivity into my life, so I wanted to address this. Rebecca and I are parting ways.

“I feel this is the best choice for everyone’s health and happiness.”

She added: “I realise you can’t love people fully without loving yourself. I’m so proud of all the work the Cock Destroyers did.

“I promise you that I have a big project in the works, slags! This isn’t the end, just a start on a new journey – and what could be more exciting than that?”

More added in her own tweet: “It’s a new day. I will always have room in my heart for forgiveness until then I shall just carry on with what I was doing.”

One fan responded: “Absolutely devastated, heartbroken, and gutted to hear about the Cock Destroyers. Nobody talk to me for the rest of the month, I need time.”

“The Cock Destroyers splitting up has affected me more than my parents splitting up,” said another.

Others questioned how we would even carry on “as an LGBT+ community” and “as a society”.

Writer Evan Ross Katz shared on Instagram: “Bill and Melinda Gates whomst? This is the break-up of a true dynasty… Salt of the earth humans with hearts as big as their 32KKK-size chests.

“And like many, I’m devastated and nearly speechless to learn that the two are parting ways.

“I take comfort in the belief that this is for the best for them both and want to extend my sincerest gratitude for the joy these two have collaboratively spread to so many within the LGBTQ+ community.

“Sunday, meant to be a day of rest, will never be the same. We love you, dolls!”
