Megan Rapinoe isn’t impressed by ‘unexceptional’ Caitlyn Jenner after trans athletes comments

Megan Rapinoe has hit out Caitlyn Jenner after she publicly opposed trans equality in sports, telling her: “You’re not an exceptional politician.”
Caitlyn Jenner recently lost what little LGBT+ support she had left when she claimed that allowing trans athletes to compete under their correct gender identity “just isn’t fair”.
Now, trans ally, queer icon and soccer superstar Rapinoe has hit out at the former Olympian and Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, telling her: “You were an exceptional athlete. You’re not an exceptional politician.”
Speaking on an episode of the Fubo Sports Network show The Cooligans, Rapinoe said: “It takes a ton of skill and institutional knowledge.
“Those people are talented politicians. I think people need to think of it that way. They actually have a talent for doing the politicking.
“I love talking about politics from my perspective, from my lane. I honestly think It’s become too much of a popularity [contest].
“I probably could be a representative of some kind, win a district here or there, but am I really the best person to be doing that? Maybe I can just talk about the person who is actually the best person to be doing that.”
Laughing, she added: “Unless it’s the president, and then probably, I’ll just do it.”
Caitlyn Jenner gave first TV interview as governor candidate from her private airplane hangar.
This month, Caitlyn Jenner went to Fox News for her first TV interview since announcing her bid to become governor of California.
In the interview, she doubled down on her opposition to trans girls competing on girls teams, and insisted she didn’t care what people thought about her stance.
She said: “I stick with my statements that I made… I think we have to make sure that the integrity of girls’ sports is there, I think that’s extremely important.
“But there’s more to it than just what I said, because I just said ‘biological boys in sports’ – there’s more to it than that, and I think in the future I will explain more of that.”
Speaking from her private Malibu airplane hangar, Caitlyn Jenner also praised Donald Trump as a “disruptor”, and whined that her super-rich friends were leaving California so they don’t have to see homeless people.
