Conor McGregor brands rival Khabib Nurmagomedov a ‘homophobic ass’ in explosive Twitter rant
Conor McGregor branded Khabib Nurmagomedov a “homophobic ass” in an explosive and since-deleted Twitter rant that touched off their years-long rivalry.
The mixed martial artist has dealt repeated broadsides against the UFC champion after losing to him at UFC 229 in October 2018.
And as much as Nurmagomedov, the former lightweight world champ, has since retired, this has done little to temper McGregor’s shots against him.
In the latest swing, a Twitter user’s question about how their feud is covered by commentators ignited a slew of allegations of homophobia against Nurmagomedov, 32, the Daily Mirror reported.
Responding to a user who claimed McGregor was cheating during the fight by holding Nurmagomedov’s shorts, he hit back: “I wasn’t holding his shorts!
“I was ramming my fingers up his homophobic ass.”
“And just look at this happy face here. He loves it. He’s a fingers in the booty ass b***h.”
The rant came after MMA fighter Darren Chimaev accused the UFC commentary of “doing [McGregor] dirty”.
“Real dirty,” McGregor responded. “I’ve felt the commentary wrath a few times.
“Imagine this was the round I had won too.
“The guy was holding onto me crying to referee saying I was breaking the rules or some s**t.
“And they try and say that I said this only business s***. Absolute horse plop.”
After UFC 229, the former featherweight and lightweight champion called on Nurmagomedov for a rematch – but the bout was blunted after Nurmagomedov announced his retirement.
McGregor himself has long fielded accusations of homophobia. Anti-gay slurs are nothing more than “trash talk“, he said in 2017 after being recorded calling a fellow fighter a “f****t”.
He also refused to condemn Floyd Mayweather after the boxer called McGregor a “f****t” that same year.
“People are so touchy on words,” McGregor said at the time. “It’s absolutely crazy.”
He added: “Everyone with a sane mind that is watching knows what way it is. It is what it is.
“Some dirty tactics out there, but that’s what to expect. The fight game is a ruthless business.”
