Lady Gaga joins Friends reunion special, for some reason
Lady Gaga will star in Friends: The Reunion as part of her heterosexual outreach program.
The “Stupid Love” hitmaker will appear alongside all six members of the original cast and a number of special guests for the Friends special.
Alongside Gaga, a vivid array of token straight men, such as James Corden, Justin Bieber and David Beckham, as well as BTS, Cara Delevingne, Mindy Kaling and Malala Yousafzai will appear.
HBO Max wrote on its Twitter account Thursday (13 May) “we’re going to need a bigger couch” as it confirmed that supporting stars Maggie Wheeler (Janice), James Michael Tyler (Gunther), Reese Witherspoon (Jill) and Tom Selleck (Richard) will also return.
Elliott Gould and Christina Pickles, who played Ross and Monica’s parents, Jack and Judy, are back, too. Even Joey’s identical hand twin Randall, played by Thomas Lennon, will make an appearance.
The six Friends, Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), Matt LeBlanc (Joey), David Schwimmer (Ross), Matthew Perry (Chandler), Courteney Cox (Monica) and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe), will sit down to discuss the show but will not appear in character.
The streamer announced that the reunion will run 27 May, exactly one year after it was originally slated to air. The announcement follows months of production delays amid the coronavirus pandemic.

On Friends‘ official Twitter account, a brief trailer absolutely rammed with nostalgia was dropped, showing the original six actors walking along the Warner Bros Studio lot in Burbank, California.
They can be seen strolling towards the iconic comedy’s soundstage, Stage 24, as a piano version of the show’s theme song, “I’ll Be There For You” by The Rembrandts, plays.

“The One Where We Get To See Our Favourites Back Together Again,” the tweet reads.
The Friends reunion special was originally announced in Febuaray 2020, but the pandemic threw a spanner in filming. It finally taped last month on the soundtage in front of a live studio audience.
The entire special, according to Indy100, will be entirely unscripted and take place on the soundtage itself.
