Trans woman viciously attacked by Grindr date because she didn’t want to have sex with him

A Mexican trans woman living in New York was brutally attacked by her Grindr date because when she said she didn’t want to have sex with him.
According to Gay City News, the attack took place earlier this month after Roxy Perez, 58, met a man on Grindr.
On 5 May, he repeatedly messaged her and insisted on coming over to her apartment, despite her telling him she was too tired.
When he arrived, she asked him to wait for 30 minutes so she could get ready, but he pressured her into allowing him upstairs immediately.
He began groping her upon entering the apartment, she said, and when she asked him to leave he accused her of stealing his phone.
Perez said that he told her: “If I don’t find my cell phone, I’m not leaving.” He then added: “I want to kill you.”
She tried to call the police for help, but the man snatched the phone and began punching her in the face.
When he eventually fled, Perez was taken to hospital with cuts, bruising and swelling on her face.
As a trans woman, she is at huge risk of violence in the US, which is exacerbated by the assumption that she is “hungry for sex”, she explained, making using dating apps including Grindr like “Russian roulette”.
She said: “He kept pushing me. What part of, ‘I don’t want to have sex with you’ do you not understand?
“Nobody can touch me if I say no. It’s not about the sex.
“It is about my dignity. Because I’m transgender, I’m supposed to want sex 24/7?”
According to Gay City News, the attack is still being investigated, and police have not yet tracked down the suspect. No arrests have been made.
This year is already set to become the most deadly on record for trans people in America.
Following an already record-breaking 2020, less than halfway through the year 2021 has seen “at least” 26 trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming people killed, according to Human Rights Campaign.
