PinkNews’ digital festival Pride for All returns to celebrate queer resilience and the power of protest
Pride for All – PinkNews’ kaleidoscopic digital festival – is back for its second year, packed with live talks, interactive events and a virtual march.
Pride for All kicks off on Tuesday (8 July) and runs until Thursday (10 July), bringing queer celebration and protest to the homes of the LGBT+ community when they need it the most.
This year’s theme is resilience: in the face of the pandemic, in the face of anti-LGBT+ hate, and in the face of the countless obstacles the queer community has faced throughout history.
The three-day event will feature live conversations with activists including human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell and UK Black Pride co-founder and Kaleidoscope Trust executive director Lady Phyll, as well as exclusive content from your favourite LGBT+ celebrities and influencers.
Interactive events include a free queer self-empowerment workshop, Party with Ginger’s drag bingo, wig-styling and make-up tutorials, and a Pride special of PinkNews’ inclusive fitness Snapchat show, WerkOut.
Content will be live-streamed across a variety of PinkNews’ social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok.
Throughout Pride for All, a virtual Pride march will be taking place to highlight the key work being done by a range of charities and brands to support the LGBT+ community during Pride month and beyond.
You can add your virtual self to the march by creating your own avatar, and join us in what we hope will be the largest march in history, welcoming LGBT+ community members from across the globe.
Pride for All will raise funds for Kaleidoscope Trust, a UK-based charity, working to create a free, safe and equal world for LGBT+ people everywhere.
Kaleidoscope Trust executive director Lady Phyll (Phyll Opoku-Gyimah) said: “The pivot many of us have made over the past year to hosting events online, has enabled communities like those we fight for and represent to be listened to, seen and heard in ways – previously unimaginable.
“Pride for All is a great example of the types of conversations we can have when we take to the digital space with the express intent of changing the world.”
PinkNews CEO Benjamin Cohen, added: “We’re honoured to provide a platform which allows people around the world to celebrate Pride month and be given a safe space to do so.
“We all know the power of Pride, the warm feeling of acceptance and a chance to reflect on the struggles and sacrifices members of our communities have made throughout history.
“By continuing to wave our flag with Pride, digitally, we continue to let voices be heard and the community to connect.”
