Armie Hammer has ‘checked into rehab’ for ‘sex, drugs and alcohol issues’

Armie Hammer has reportedly checked into an in-patient treatment centre for “sex, drugs and alcohol issues”.
The 34-year-old actor has, according to sources, moved into a rehabilitation clinic near Orlando, Florida, after leaving his home in the Cayman Islands on 29 May.
Sources told Vanity Fair that he had arrived at the facility for “drug, alcohol, and sex issues” with the support of his family.
This decision comes months after Hammer fielded a raft of accusations from former partners who have shared accounts of the star’s grisly sexual fantasies such as blood, violence, rape and cannibalism.
The crux of the allegations came after a woman known as Effie shared a slew of screen captures of unverified direct messages between her and Hammer in January.
Among them, Armie Hammer reportedly wrote he is “100 per cent a cannibal” and “desired to drink [her] blood”.
In March, Los Angeles police launched a probe into Effie’s claim that Hammer “violently raped” her when they briefly dated in 2017.
He has long denied any wrongdoing through his lawyer, stressing Hammer is not a cannibal and the rape accusations “patently untrue”.
But in the fallout, he has been dropped by his agency WME and removed from several projects, including Shotgun Wedding and The Minutes.
Armie Hammer ‘asked Elizabeth Chambers for help’
Sources alleged that Armie Hammer began attending the facility after reaching out to his estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers “asking for help and telling her that he was ready to seek treatment”.
Flying in the early morning from the Grand Cayman airport, Hammer was dropped off by his loved ones, witnesses claimed in since-deleted Instagram stories.
“Elizabeth and kids dropp[ed] him off and walk[ed] in as far as allowed,” a user reportedly wrote. “A lot of hugs and seemed emotional.”

He has been in treatment for more than a week, two sources close to Hammer claimed.
“This is a clear sign that he is taking back control [of] his life and knows that this [is] a step towards his overall well being,” one insider said.
“Everyone looks at Armie thinking that he’s had some sort of privileged life – and that must mean there were no problems in his youth and everything was peachy keen.
“But that’s not necessarily the way things go. Just because you come from an upbringing where financial resources are plentiful doesn’t mean life isn’t without problems.”
