PlayStation say ‘gay rights!’ and finally add a dedicated LGBT+ section to their online store
The PlayStation Store has added a new section specially for LGBT+ games. The collection is accessible on both PlayStation 5 and PS4.
“Join us as we celebrate LGBTQ+ representation for Pride and beyond,” reads the blurb on the store.
It’s an excellent selection of games, all featuring LGBT+ themes and characters.
Headlining is, of course, The Last of us Part II, which recently celebrated its one year anniversary.
There are other top tier games too, including the likes of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, PlayStation 5 launch game Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the recently released Mass Effect Legendary Edition, and favourites like Overwatch, Borderlands 3 and the free-to-play Apex Legends.
But there’s also room for some smaller indie titles. Gone Home, Stardew Valley, Dream Daddy, Celeste and Night in the Woods are all must-play titles.
You can also catch up on Life is Strange ahead of the release of Life is Strange: True Colors this autumn.
Some of these games are also currently available at a discounted price, such as The Outer Wilds, NieR Replicant and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
Visit the PlayStation Store for a full list of games.
For further discounts, check out the Mid-Year Deals promotion on the PlayStation Store.
Available from today (23 June), there is up to 60% off a huge range of PlayStation titles.
It includes the likes of Outriders, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, Horizon Zero Dawn and many more. For a full list, check out the blog post.
The LGBT+ collection arrives during Pride month, where many video game companies are celebrating the community.
Main rival Xbox has donated to charity, created themed merch and sent out exclusive Pride controllers, among other initiatives.
Meanwhile many games have added Pride emotes and flags and encouraged support for the LGBT+ community.
