A troubling video of Britney Spears “about to pass out” during a 2018 performance has resurfaced, alarming fans already on edge about her “abusive” conservatorship.

Spears, 39, has publicly sounded off in court for the first time since entering a court-approved conservatorship in 2008.

In a 23-minute testimony, she detailed a litany of grievances against her conservators which included being allegedly drugged and made to perform “against her will”.

With the address still causing shockwaves among her fans, one Twitter user posted a video that, with what the world knows now, has become all the more unsettling.

At a concert at the Borgata Event Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey, for her “Piece of Me” tour Spears tells a packed crowd that she was running a fever of 38.8 degrees Celcius.

As she greets a fan brought onto the stage, she warns him that it’s hot “up here”.

“I’m about to pass out, and I’m sick,” she can be seen in the mobile phone footage. “I have, actually, a 102 [Fahrenheit] fever right now.”

Britney then asks the fan’s name and tells him he’s going to dance with her and her backup dancers now.

Video of a feverish Britney Spears leaves fans unsettled – and guilty

Zachary Gordon, a Pennsylvania-based supporter of the #FreeBritney movement, wrote on Twitter while sharing the video: “I feel like we owe you an apology.

“We bought into the whole hype of BRITNEY the performer, without much consideration for how Britney Jean Spears, the person, was coping through each day.”

“I just thought: ‘Wow, she’s such a trooper and cares so much to put on a show for her fans.’

“Now I can see with clear eyes that this was a dig at the people controlling you, making you go onstage, performing under high powered lights, all while you had a high-grade fever.”

The video resurfaced amid explosive revelations from The New York Times that she told court investigators that she was forced to perform against her will.

At one point during a 2019 back-door court hearing, she claimed she had been “forced” to perform with a ” 104-degree fever”. She called it, according to a transcript of the hearing seen by the newspaper, “one of the scariest moments of her life”.

Fans amplified this, condemning those who allegedly made her perform as “cruel”.
