Lil Nas X drops epic Marvel-inspired trailer for Montero: The Album and the gays are losing it
Lil Nas X has dropped an epic Marvel-inspired teaser for Montero: The Album, promising fans that it is “coming soon”.
The 53-second teaser emulates Marvel’s opening sequence, with various Lil Nas X characters taking the place of superheroes, from his classic cowboy outfit, to the artist in thigh-high boots, pole dancing into hell.
As the words “Montero: The Album, coming soon” appear on the screen, a snippet of a new track plays, rumoured to be “Industry Baby”, which fans have spent months waiting for.
As most of Twitter lost their minds “at the thought of a Lil Nas X cinematic universe”, fans all had the same question: “WHEN IS SOON?”

Montero will be Lil Nas X’s debut album.
He rose to fame with the release of his single “Old Town Road” in 2018, which was later followed by the EP 7 in 2019.
The teaser was released days after the artist and queer icon performed “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” at the BET Awards, finishing the song by sharing a passionate kiss with one of his backup dancers while he embraced another.
He later took to Twitter to hit back at homophobes who were upset, yet again, by his work.
He tweeted: “Y’all hate yourselves so much.
“Y’all live your lives trying your best to appease straight people.
“Y’all are uncomfortable with what I do because y’all are afraid they will be uncomfortable with you.
“Work on yourselves, I love who I am and whatever I decide to do. Get there.”

When another Twitter user suggested that Lil Nas X’s unashamed queerness was because he was “insecure” about his sexuality, he admitted that he was.
“You’re right I am insecure about my sexuality,” he said.
“I still have a long way to go. I’ve never denied that. When you’re conditioned by society to hate yourself your entire life it takes a lot of unlearning.
“Which is exactly why I do what I do.”
