Powerpuff Girls make-up comes after live action reboot panned
The release of this collection comes after filming on a live-action adaption of the series was halted following fan backlash of first-look images.
One fan said the rebooted Powerpuff Girls looks “absolutely ridiculous” and should be left alone as a cartoon, while another wrote: “CUT THE CAMERAS.”
The CW network decided to re-shoot the entire pilot and make substantial changes to the show, as reported by Variety, due to the reaction.
The series – starring Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault as Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup – will see the beloved superheroes reunite as a trio of “disillusioned twenty-somethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime fighting”.
