Lil Nas X says it’s his right to ‘drop the soap’ if he goes to jail over his Satan shoes

Lil Nas X continues to earn his spot as the internet’s premiere troll, this time posting a tearful video about a “Satan shoes” court case.
The hero we need but don’t deserve took to TikTok Thursday (15 July), sharing a video of himself dancing while tears visibly stream down his face.
Throughout the video, he can be seen breaking down before resuming dancing once again.
Nas explained, via a caption at the top of the video, that he has “court on Monday” over his controversial “Satan shoes”. He wrote that he “might go to jail” as a result of the court case, but that his “label” has told him to “keep making TikToks“.

Lil Nas X: My body, my choice
The video blew up on TikTok with over 1.9 million likes and thousands of comments. Several people said that Lil Nas X should wear the shoes to court while others warned him “not to stop the soap”.
Nas responded in the comment section: “Stop telling me not drop the soap. My body my choice”.

Lil Nas X also took to Twitter to keep fans updated on the impending court hearing.
“Trying really hard to decide what I should wear to court on Monday for the Satan shoes case,” the rapper wrote. He tweeted two photos: one with a Minions shirt and the other with a Spongebob Squarepants shirt.

Lil Nas X released the bespoke “Satan shoes” shoes in collaboration with New York art collective MSCHF shortly after premiering his music video for “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”.
The collective made 666 pairs of the modified Nike Air Max 97s which were customised with hellish themes and purportedly contained a drop of human blood in each pair.
Shortly after the shoes were released, Nike filed a successful trademark infringement lawsuit against MSCHF Product Studio, and a mass product recall was included as part of the settlement. It’s unclear why Nas would be headed to court – and let’s be honest, he’s probably just having us on.
