Cult sci-fi horror game Dead Space to be remastered in newly announced, from-the-ground-up remake
EA announced a remake of sci-fi horror game Dead Space at their EA Play Live event. Yes that’s right, we’re getting Dead Space remastered.
Dead Space was first released on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2008, followed by two well-received sequels.
This new game will be a remake of the first in the series built from the ground up for new consoles and PC to make use of their graphical power.
Dead Space remastered will feature an improved story, characters and gameplay mechanics. As engineer Isaac Clarke, players will need to discover the mystery behind the slaughtered crew of the USG Ishimura mining starship.
“We have a passionate team at Motive who are approaching this remake as a love letter to the franchise. Going back to the original and having the opportunity to do so on next-gen consoles excited everyone on the team,” said Phillippe Ducharme, Senior Producer of Dead Space.
There’s no release date for Dead Space remastered yet, but you can view the teaser trailer below.
Elsewhere at EA Play Live, new gameplay was shown of Lost In Random, a new gothic fairytale action game.
A brand new trailer for the game showed off more of its Tim Burton aesthetic and gameplay based on chance using companion Dicey.
More details were also announced for Battlefield 2042, including its new Portal mode.
Described as “a love letter to Battlefield fans”, this mode will allow players to design their own custom matches using maps and content from previous games in the series.
More details are shown in the trailer below.
New racing game Grid Legends was also revealed, the latest in the motorsports series that will include an “immersive story that puts the player at the heart of the action” as well as a race creator for players to mix and match vehicles and battles across various circuits.
Further details on new Apex Legends character Seer were also shown.
