First up is one of the most-anticipated releases of 2021, the film adaption of West End hit Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
After a number of release delays due to the pandemic, the feel-good musical finally drops on Prime Video on 17 September in more than 240 countries.
It follows Jamie New, played by newcomer Max Horwood, a teenager from Sheffield who dreams of a life on stage and a career as a fierce and proud drag queen.
Despite an unsupportive father, an uninspired careers adviser and ignorant classmates, his mother, best friend and local drag queen Miss Loco Chanelle help him step into the spotlight.
The supporting cast features Sarah Lancashire, Sharon Horgan, Lauren Patel and Richard E. Grant and it has already received glowing reviews from critics.
Another big musical movie making its worldwide premiere on Prime Video is the Camila Cabello-fronted Cinderella.
Despite the somewhat mixed reaction to the official trailer, the film – which drops on 3 September – is still a big talking point on social media.
It follows the title character who is an ambitious young woman, whose dreams of opening ‘Dresses by Ella’ are bigger than the world will allow.
The stacked supporting cast includes Fab G, a genderless fairy godparent played by Billy Porter, Idina Menzel, Minnie Driver, Missy Elliott and Beverly Knight.
Other big boxsets joining the streaming service – and set to be your next binge watch – include Elementary and Charmed.
The first stars Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Joan Watson in a contemporary update of the classic story and characters by Arthur Conan Doyle.
The general premise follows Holmes, a recovering drug addict and former consultant to Scotland Yard, as he assists the New York City Police Department in solving crimes.
There are a huge 154 episodes to get through across seven seasons so buckle up for plenty of drama, crime and Lucy Liu being a badass.
The second edition to the streaming service is Charmed which has become a firm LGBT+ favourite since its debut in 1998.
The series, which follows a trio of sisters known as ‘The Charmed Ones’ – the most powerful good witches of all time – ran for eight seasons.
It stars Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan across its run as the different sisters who possess a number of powers.
