Cheesy chips and chest bumps: The funniest tweets and memes from this week’s Drag Race UK
There’s one day a year that entirely shapes the gay music calendar. No, we’re not talking about the date Adele throws down her latest bottom anthem, or even Lil Nas X giving birth to Montero through his bussy.
We are, of course, talking about the iconic Drag Race UK Girl Groups challenge, which has given rise to the twin, impossible to ignore earworms “Break Up Bye Bye” and “UK Hun?” in recent years. Neither of which you’ll ever get out of your heads: you’ll probably still be Bing Bang Bonging and Sing Sang Songing on your deathbeds.
And this year it was even more of a big deal, because the two Drag Race UK groups were coached by none other than the legendary synchronised jig-merchants Steps, who got us all flailing in unison back in the 90s. Oh, and Baby Spice was on the judging panel, too.
There was a bit of a change from previous series: they didn’t record the same version of this year’s song: “B.D.E. (Big Drag Energy)”. Instead, one group did it as a power ballad and the other as a high energy pop track that included lines like “have I got snot on my face”. Because it wouldn’t be Drag Race UK without scenes that made you feel like you were on weird drugs.
As usual, this bright, colourful, camp madness sparked a lot of hilarious reactions on Twitter, here are some of the funniest we found.

Pick ‘N’ Mix is a pretty good girl group name, though we preferred Alan Carr’s suggestion of ‘All Taints’

that double shantay should have been for ep 3 not 4 cause umm Charity Kase ate Scarlett up. Vanity & Veronica deserved it more. what in the tomfoolery. #DragRaceUK #DragRaceUK3 #RuPaulsDragRaceUK pic.twitter.com/T6mrTvySKa— ᴾᴱᴿᴿᴬ j̶u̶s̶s̶a̶y̶a̶ × (@jusskawaii) October 14, 2021

Break Up Bye Bye, UK Hun? and now B.D.E. It’s hit after hit. We’re looking forward to the full Drag Race UK album in about seven years time.
