Sex and the City trio break silence on Chris Noth sexual assault allegations
Sex and the City’s Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis spoke out after their Mr Big co-star was accused of sexual assault.
Chris Noth has been accused of sexually assaulting two women, who spoke to The Hollywood Reporter using pseudonyms following the premiere of Sex and the City’s revival, And Just Like That…
The women said that the press frenzy around the HBO Max reboot had stirred up painful memories, coming forward separately about alleged incidents they say took place in 2004 and 2015. Noth has dismissed the allegations as “categorically false”.
His co-stars on the HBO franchise broke their silence Monday (21 December) in a joint statement.
Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, who play Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte, said they were “deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth”.
“We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences,” the three actors posted on social media.
“We know it must be a very difficult thing for them to do and we commend them for it.”

The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that Chris Noth is not currently under investigation. A spokesperson said: “There is no record of a report being filed at this time. Without a report there is no investigation.”
Nevertheless, brands have rapidly distanced themselves from Noth.
The actor, whose Sex and the City character was killed off in the premiere episode of And Just Like That…, has also been dropped from the CBS drama The Equalizer. He played the role of detective William Bishop in the show, which also stars Queen Latifah.
“Chris Noth will no longer film additional episodes of The Equalizer, effective immediately,” Universal Television and CBS said in a short statement.
Peloton has also pulled an advertising campaign that starred Noth, created and released after his SATC character Mr Big died after working out on one of its stationary bikes.
In a statement, Peloton said: “Every single sexual assault accusation must be taken seriously. We were unaware of these allegations when we featured Chris Noth in our response to HBO’s reboot.”
Noth said in a statement: “The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false.
“These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago – no always means no – that is a line I did not cross.
“The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out.
“I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”
