OnlyFans creator arrested for ‘obscenity’ over ‘images of private parts’ in Singapore

Only Fans star Titus Low Kaide, 22, was arrested by Singaporean police and charged with “transmitting obscene materials”.
Low was charged with two counts of transmitting obscene materials via electronic means during an appearance in district court on 30 December.
According to The Straits Times, police received reports Low has “transmitted images and videos of his private parts”.
He’s believed to be the first person arrested and charged over OnlyFans in Singapore, where the possession, distribution, or sale of pornographic material is outlawed (it’s not illegal to stream porn, as long as it’s not downloaded and stored). There are also laws banning gay sex and nudity.
Due to alleged failure to comply with a police order not to access his account, Low was also handed a charge under the Criminal Procedure Code.
His arrest has reportedly sparked fear among other OnlyFans creators in Singapore, and has made national headlines.
Low addressed his arrest in a nine-minute video online, describing himself as a “former” OnlyFans creator and hitting out at critics, pointing out that the content was behind a paywall and, as a result, not publicly available.
“We only create content for people who are our age and wish to have content they want to see. And all this is on the basis of everything is consensual,” he said.
“So we don’t force you to watch our content, we don’t force you to pay, it’s not open for public consumption, and if I don’t impede on your life and your lifestyle, to the person who reported me, why are you impeding in mine?”
“’Til today, I don’t know who made the report, and I don’t know why. I mean, it’s OnlyFans. I have to create specific content for specific adults. We are both willing like buyer and seller,” he added.
OnlyFans was Low’s main source of income. He reportedly made up to five figures a month on the site, and opened up about how his earnings from the platform allowed him to lead a lifestyle that will no longer be sustainable for him.
He has stated his hopes that the case will provoke conversations around inclusion. For now, however, he has also stated his intentions not to post anything further on the platform.
Low’s bail has been set at $5,000, and the case’s next hearing is scheduled for 20 January. An offender can be jailed for up to three months and fined. For offences under the Criminal Procedure Code, the punishment can be jail for up to six months and a further fine of up to $5,000.
