Emmerdale’s Max Parker and Kris Mochrie share picture-perfect engagement: ‘Happiest moment ever’
Emmerdale stars Max Parker and Kris Mochrie have confirmed they are engaged.
Parker and Mochrie played on-screen brothers Luke and Lee Posner on the popular ITV soap, and began dating in 2020.
Completing their real-life romantic plotline, the pair took to social media to announce their engagement on Sunday (23 January).
Max Parker, who played Luke on Emmerdale from 2019 until 2021, revealed that he popped the question to Kris Mochrie and shared a video of the magical moment.
Set to “Heartbeats” by José González, the clip sees the couple sharing a tender kiss before Parker gets down on one knee and asks him to marry.
After Mochrie says yes, they roll around in the sand hugging. Maybe love isn’t dead after all.
Parker, 29, wrote: “He deserves the world, but the best I could do is promise him my heart.”
“He said YES! Happiest moment of my life. Kris Mochrie, my Fiancé.”

Mochrie wrote in a post of his own: “The beautiful soul that is my best friend asked me to marry him yesterday. I can’t begin to describe how happy I am.
“I love him beyond words, we laugh every single day and I’m so so grateful that he came into my life.”
Emmerdale star’s mother helped create one-of-a-kind engagement ring
Kris Mochrie had no idea about the “perfect” proposal, which involved a treasured family heirloom.
He explained how Max Parker asked his mother for any jewellery that his grandmother had.
“Mum still had my Gran’s locket and he has had it made into the middle of the engagement ring on the inside,” Mochrie wrote. “So so special.”
He gave a shout-out to Emmerdale for being the “job that brought us together”.
“I’m a very lucky boy,” Mochrie added. “WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!!!!!”
Max Parker and Kris Mochrie went official with their relationship in 2020, ending months of fan speculation.
A few cosy holiday selfies later, they opened up about connecting on the set of Emmerdale.
Parker told Attitude magazine that he didn’t make a move until after Mochrie’s last day, when they matched with one another on Tinder.
“He was filming his last day on set,” he said in 2020, “that was the first time we met. I didn’t know he was gay, but I remember thinking he’s very handsome.
“It was later I thought, ‘I’ve never done Tinder, so I’ll have a go,’ so I went on Tinder and I saw him pop up, and I was like, ‘OK this is a sign’ – so I made the first move by sending a message on Instagram.”
Last year, the couple moved into a luxury penthouse apartment in Manchester together.
