It’ll see contestants move into the Big Grrrls House, where they get a crash course on all things Lizzo, before it’s decided which dancers will twerk alongside her on her world tour.
Lizzo announced details of the show on Instagram, saying it is “the greatest moment of my career yet”.
“Y’all know how hard it’s been finding dancers that look like me. But if I gotta get a TV show to get the world to see the value in us big grrrls B***H IMMA DO IT,” she adds.
She promises viewers that they’ll “laugh, cry, twerk, repeat” throughout the eight-part series, which has been previewed with an emotional trailer.
Fans are excited about the series, which will showcase some much-needed representation in the world of dance.
One commented: “Well I’m crying. The show I needed growing up. I wanted to dance so desperately but no one allowed me to believe that was possible in my body. Thank you, Lizzo.”
Another wrote: “This is SO important !!!!! I’ve never seen so many diverse bodies in just a short clip. THANK YOU.”
Somebody else said: “Thank YOU for doing this we are extremely and eternally hyped”.

The show will feature choreographers Tanisha Scott and O.G. Big Grrrls Chawnta’ Marie Van, Shirlene Quigley, and Grace Holden, plus a guest appearance by SZA, choreographer Charm La’Donna and body movement expert Rashida KhanBey Miller.
Lizzo also recently debuted a new song during an advert for the Super Bowl 2022.
The track called “If You Love Me” played in the background for Google Pixel’s minute-long advert, which makes the point that camera technology has failed to accurately represent darker skin tones.
The clip features a series of pictures of people of colour – including queer people of colour – taken on a Google Pixel 6.
