Avril Lavigne wants Kristen Stewart to play her in a film and fans have thoughts
Avril Lavigne has revealed her pick for any future biopic about her life, saying it would be “cool” for Kristen Stewart to take on the role.
Considering Stewart has been nominated for all the awards for her portrayal of Princess Diana in Spencer, the singer’s pick should come as no surprise.
Lavigne was asked about a potential biopic on the red carpet of the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Tuesday (March 22) and her answer quickly made the rounds on social media.
“Kristen Stewart would be cool to play me in a film,” Lavigne said. “She’s dope.”

I’ve literally been wanting this since I was 12 years old. You can’t tell me Kristen Stewart’s look in Zathura (2005) wasn’t inspired by Avril Lavigne. They both changed my life so much, it’s insane. It’s my dream collab ✨ pic.twitter.com/0dOT055Wbs

Why would there be an Avril Lavigne biopic to begin with? She’s not some juggernaut of the music/pop punk world, she had like 2-3 hits 20 years ago lol.

As well as her impressive transformation into British royalty, Kristen Stewart previously channelled rockstar bravado when playing Joan Jett in The Runaways.
While an Avril Lavigne biopic hasn’t been formally announced, the singer has expressed her interest in making a film based off her smash-hit single, “Sk8tr Boi”.
The track, which was released in 2002, will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year.
“A lot of people have been asking me to play this song on some TV shows, so it keeps getting brought back up and people will always reference it to me,” Lavigne said on iHeartRadio’s She Is The Voice podcast.
“And so, I’m actually going to turn this song into a film…and take it to the next level.”
While we wait for this dream team-up between Kristen Stewart and Avril Lavigne, we at least have the actor’s upcoming TV projecst to look forward to.
She’s previously teased a TV script with her fiance Dylan Meyer, as well as a gay ghost-hunting show.
