Fantastic Beasts star Ezra Miller was arrested for disorderly conduct and harassment after an incident at a Hawaii bar over the weekend.

The 29-year-old actor was held in police custody in Hilo, a town on the northeastern side of the island of Hawaii, shortly after midnight on Monday (28 March).

In a public statement, Hawaiian police said officers responded to reports of a “disorderly patron”, later identified as Miller, at a bar on Sunday (27 March) just before midnight. The police alleged that Miller had become “agitated” when other “patrons at the bar began singing karaoke”.

Miller reportedly “began yelling obscenities”. They “grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman singing karaoke” and “later lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts”.

The bar owner tried to de-escalate the situation, asking Miller to “calm down several times to no avail”.

Police arrested the Justice League star and charged them with disorderly conduct and harassment for their behaviour at the bar. They were released after paying bail set at $500 (£383).

PinkNews has contacted Miller’s representatives for comment.

In 2020, a video emerged online of Ezra Miller allegedly showing the actor choking a fan in Iceland.

The footage showed a person, identified as Miller, saying “Oh, you wanna fight? That’s what you wanna do?” to a young fan. Miller then grabbed the fan, who was initially seen smiling, by the throat before pushing her to the ground.

A panicked voice can be heard shouting before the video is abruptly stopped.

A source told Variety that the altercation took place after Miller was confronted by a group of fans, who were “quite pushy”, and things quickly escalated.

Miller was briefly featured at the Oscars as a pivotal scene of their character The Flash in Zack Snyder’s Justice League won the “most cheer-worthy moment”. The new category was recently introduced by the Academy Awards and the winner is determined by a public vote.

Ezra Miller first appeared as Barry Allen, aka The Flash, in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. They had a cameo in Suicide Squad and was featured in Justice League

Miller’s first solo film as the character is set for release in 2023 after suffering COVID-induced production delays with visual effects, Variety reported.

However, they will be returning to the big screen soon as Credence Barebone in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which will premiere in theatres next month.
