Britney Spears announces she’s giving up Instagram ‘for a little while’
Britney Spears has confirmed she’ll be taking a break from social media, weeks after revealing she’s expecting her first child with Sam Asghari.
Ever since she was freed from her 13-year conservatorship last year, Instagram has been the pop superstar’s main source of communication with her fans.
However, the 40-year-old has decided to put a pause on her posts for the time being as she told fans: “I’m going on a social media hiatus for a little while ? !!! I send my love and God bless you all ???? !!!”
Along with the update, the “Circus” hitmaker posted a playful video of a baby lounging next to a mini vanity set, wearing a robe, sunglasses and hair rollers.
Many fans were quick to comment that they would miss Britney’s quirky fashion posts as well as her more emotional recollections of her time within the cruel conservatorship that she says barred her from having a third child for years.
The “Lucky” singer is now preparing to welcome a child with Asghari, whom she refers to as her “husband”.
Britney Spears already shares two sons, 16-year-old Sean and 15-year-old Jaden, with ex-husband Kevin Federline. The child on the way will be Asghari’s first.
The singer currently has 30 per cent custody of her children, an arrangement she has reportedly said she wants to change to spend more time with them.
Elsewhere, Britney has been taking time to work on her “cleansing” tell-all memoir in which she plans to share new details about her life and career.
“I’m writing a book at the moment and it’s actually healing and therapeutic,” Britney said in February. “It’s also hard bringing up past events in my life … I’ve never been able to express openly !!!”
