Jesse James Keitel, who was the first announced cast member, will play “a trans, somewhat reformed party girl who is struggling to grow up”.

The trailblazing non-binary actor said they were “honored”, “thrilled” and “in genuine disbelief to be joining this iconic show”.

It’s a Sin producer Nicola Shindler recently revealed that the hit drama was almost a prequel to Davies’ original 1999 version of Queer as Folk.

During a recent BAFTA Television Session, Shindler revealed (per Radio Times): “We debated whether [It’s a Sin] should really be a prequel to Queer as Folk, whether we should think about calling it that.”

However, she added: “We knew that was wrong as soon as we started talking.” But said that there is a “through-line” between both series.
