Rebel Wilson ‘had never been in love’ before meeting girlfriend Ramona Agruma: ‘It feels different’

Rebel Wilson was set up with new girlfriend Ramona Agruma by her best friend, having previously “never been in love”.
Rebel Wilson introduced her girlfriend Ramona Agruma to her 11 million followers on 9 June on Instagram with the cute caption: “I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess ???#loveislove.”
While Wilson is now blissfully entwined in LGBTQ+ love, relationships were a bit of a struggle for the Senior Year star before she met Agruma.
Her best friend Hugh Sheridan told 2Day FM’s The Morning Crew that he was on a mission to find somebody for Wilson after she told him that she had never been in love.
Sheridan said: “I was in New York and I had just split up with my ex when Rebel said to me: ‘I can’t imagine how sad you must feel. I’ve never really been in love before.'”

After Wilson told him this, Sheridan was determined to find his friend the perfect match. Agruma immediately came to mind, and he set the two of them up.
“I’d been setting Rebel up with various people and Ramona up with various people,” he said. “I’m a bit of a matchmaker in my spare time, but Rebel was a really hard one and so was Ramona.”
He added: “I think for a woman that is successful, it takes a strong man to stay with them, but I thought a woman with a woman that’s successful might lift each other up.”
After Sheridan arranged their meeting Rebel Wilson and Ramona Agruma quickly became inseparable. The two attended the Vanity Fair party together earlier this year in March, and were pictures skiing together in Utah in April.
In an interview with People magazine in May the 42-year-old revealed that she was in a relationship but didn’t reveal Agruma’s identity.
Rebel Wilson told People: “It was a setup through a friend.”
She added: “We spoke on the phone for weeks before meeting. And that was a really good way to get to know each other. It was a bit old-school in that sense — very romantic.”
Wilson admitted that in the past she has not always been lucky in love, and said that “it feels different to be in a really healthy relationship”.
