Adele blows fans away with powerful Pride message: ‘I’m crying all over again’

Adele performs on stage as American Express present BST Hyde Park in Hyde Park on July 02, 2022 in London, England.

Adele paid tribute to the LGBTQ+ community with a powerful Pride message at her latest Hyde Park concert.

At one point during the concert, the “Easy On Me” singer draped a Progress Pride flag around her shoulders.

“Happy Pride. I wore my hair out today to try and be a bit draggy,” Adele told the crowd.

She went on to address two concert-goers called Jack and Dean, revealing that a member of her team approached them and asked for their Pride flag in exchange for drink tokens when they arrived at the venue.

Adele went on to reveal that she had moved a very emotional Jack and Dean to the front row in exchange for their Pride flag.

She went on to sing “When We Were Young” while draped in the flag, a move that was welcomed by her LGBTQ+ fanbase.

Adele won praise from LGBTQ+ fans for her show of support

Fans heaped praise on Adele on social media after the concert, with many sharing pictures and videos of the star waving the Pride flag during her performance.

Adele performed songs such as “Hello”, “I Drink Wine”, “Easy On Me” and “Someone Like You” to the massive crowd at Hyde Park on Saturday night (2 July).

Elsewhere in the concert, she sent a powerful message of hope to a concert-goer who held up a sign saying Adele is the reason they were alive.

“There was a girl down there that I saw with a sign that said I’m the reason she’s alive and that ain’t true baby girl, you’re the reason you’re alive, I’m so glad that you found comfort in my music,” the singer said.

Adele’s concert also happened to take place on the same day as Pride in London, which attracted more than one million revellers for its 2022 festivities.

The singer has always had an enormous LGBTQ+ fanbase, and she’s been known to turn up in gay clubs to show her support.

In February, the singer turned up at London’s Heaven nightclub where she pole danced on stage and helped judge a “Porn Idol” contest.

Adele released her fourth studio album 30 to critical acclaim in November 2021.
