Caroline Farrow thinks ‘entitled’ gay parents are ‘removing’ babies from mothers

Caroline Farrow appears on Piers Morgan Uncensored

Anti-trans, anti-gay activist Caroline Farrow thinks “entitled” gay couples are “removing babies” from mothers to become parents.

Farrow made the comments on a segment of Piers Morgan Uncensored hosted by Jeremy Kyle on Thursday (1 September), responding to a government report which showed that 44 per cent of children born in 2000 and 2001 in the UK did not live with two biological parents throughout their entire childhood.

Farrow, who is UK campaign director for the far-right lobby group CitizenGo, lamented the breakdown of “traditional families”, and was then asked by Kyle what she thought of families with same-sex parents.

“I think that what consenting adults choose to do is up to them,” she said.

“However, what I would say is, and I’m very clear on this, I do not agree with taking babies away from their mothers… Where you have two men who are having a baby, where has that baby come from?”

After being told by fellow guest and PoliticsJOE political correspondent Ava Santina that two men are more than able to parent and give love to child and asked if she was being “obtuse”, Farrow ploughed on: “Young babies need their mothers… where you have two men raising a baby, that baby has come from a mother and has been removed for whatever reason.”

After the segment aired, Farrow took to Twitter to reiterate her claims, and even went so far as to say that cis British women will turn to surrogacy arrangements to deal with the cost of living crisis.

“Nothing gets me more riled up than entitled men who think that they are somehow entitled to a baby and who write off accepted science of maternal attachment,” Farrow tweeted.

“With the cost of living spiralling, we should be extremely wary of legitimising situations where a woman is forced to rent her body out for sex or breeding to survive.

“Many women will be tempted by the prospect of a ‘benefactor’ picking up their food and heating over the winter.”

She added: “Men cannot have babies. Babies need their mothers to thrive. Get over it bigots!”

Caroline Farrow told PinkNews in a statement: “I believe that the optimum situation for children is to be raised in a stable family environment with a mother and a father who are committed to each other and that every child deserves a mother and a father.

“That is not to say that same-sex parents cannot provide loving and stable homes for children, but that giving a child a mother and a father is the ideal.

“My comments about same-sex parents were specifically in relation to surrogacy, which is becoming normalised and the importance of the maternal bond diminished.

“I am opposed to surrogacy in all instances, irrespective of whether the commissioning parents are straight or gay. Women’s bodies are not commodities and no man has the right to remove a newborn from their mother.”
