Do Revenge star Camila Mendes reveals her beauty secret that fans can easily replicate

Do Revenge star Camila Mendes has revealed one of her beauty secrets.

Do Revenge star Camila Mendes has revealed how she achieves her daily lip look that fans can easily replicate.

The star of the hit Netflix film repped some instantly iconic looks in the Gen Z, teen flick, which dropped on the streaming platform this month.

She recently sat down with ELLE to tell fans how she achieves the ‘perfect pout’ as part of their beauty school series.

To create the lip look she wears most days, the actor reveals she uses products from Giorgio Armani Beauty.

She says: “I’m very into nude lips recently and I always like to overline a little bit, because I don’t have the biggest, fullest lips. So, I kind of like to cheat it.”

To start her daily look the Do Revenge star says: “First I like to moisturise them, put some chapstick just to get them nice and moist – I know people hate that word!”

She does this so it doesn’t look “so matte and dry” because for day-to-day she prefers a look that’s “a little more natural”.

The products she uses first from Giorgio Armani is the Smooth Silk Lip Pencil, by overlining from the centre to fill in the bow and dip of her lip.

She says she started doing her lips this way during season five of Riverdale, and she was “inspired by the 90s” and a nude lip of the era.

Mendes then contours her bottom lip using Neo Nude A-Contour in shade 21 and blends it in to add more shading before going over it with the pencil and filling it in.

For her final step, she uses Lip Power Longwear Satin Lipstick in shade 109, which has a tear drop shape so “you can follow your lip line perfectly”.

Do Revenge is full of iconic 90s film references

The Netflix hit has all of the hallmarks of a classic teen flick: the it-girl who falls from grace, the catty cliques, the nerdy new girl, the betrayal and backstabbing.

It feels as timeless as it does blatantly Gen Z for a reason: director and co-writer Jennifer Kaytin Robinson intended to visually and tonally pay homage to iconic teen movies of previous generations.

If you put titles like Clueless, 10 Things I Hate About You, Jawbreaker, and Cruel Intentions “in a boiling pot and created a soup”, Robinson told Vanity Fair, then Do Revenge would emerge.

“I wanted to make a campy popcorn movie that does not live in reality. Do Revenge is a world unto itself,” she said.

Robinson teased that there are ‘around 30 to 40 Easter eggs’ for fans to spot including nods to the style of Clueless throughout, with the character’s pastel berets and plaid skirts and a pink fluffy pen.

Other iconic films that are referenced include Mean Girls, Cruel Intentions, Scream, Heathers, 10 Things I Hate About You and Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.
