Strictly Come Dancing: Jayde Adams blows fans away with phenomenal tango filled with queer drama

Jayde Adams danced a tango routine while wearing a red outfit on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing

Strictly Come Dancing contestant Jayde Adams set the dancefloor on fire with a phenomenal tango, and fans were blown away by the display of queer drama.

The British comedian and her dance partner Karen Hauer continued to impress fans and the judges with their beautiful choreography and chemistry on this years’ series of Strictly Come Dancing

But the pair truly gave a masterclass in queer drama with their fierce tango to Adele’s hit song “Rumour Has It” on Saturday (1 October). Adams wore a stunning bright red outfit with blonde hair styled in what was definitely a nod to the “Easy on Me” singer’s signature voluminous hairstyle.

The duo were perfectly in sync with a fluid routine which saw the women play lovers entwined in an intense affair. Adams and Hauer traded impassioned looks as they held each other close multiple times during the performance before the professional dancer dramatically walked away from a drained Adams in the end.

It was channeling some serious queer soap opera energy, and the judges were here for it. Strictly judge Anton Du Beke commended Adams for embodying the performance and said she had great movement across the dancefloor throughout.

Craig Revel Horwood commented that Adams was really leading the dance, which she totally was. The pair were awarded a respectable 26 for the routine.

Fans were left in awe at Jayde Adams’ powerful performance with one saying the marvellous tango truly embodied “lesbian drama”.

Before becoming a comedian, Jayde Adams started performing on the cabaret circuit and eventually became an Adele impersonator on the drag scene.

Adams shared a stunning throwback picture of her recreating Adele’s iconic 25 album cover on Instagram before this week’s Strictly Come Dancing performance.

The actor perfectly pulled off the “Easy On Me” singer’s signature hairstyle, bold winged eyeliner and sculpted brows.

Adams teased that it’s “not unknown how much [she stans] our finest export” as she “used to be an Adele drag act back in the day” so was prepared for her performance to be “special”.

The comedian shared more Adele-inspired photos on her Instagram just ahead of this week’s searing tango, gushing it was truly the “Jayde Adams holy trinity” week.

Strictly, Adele, Tango. It’s the Jayde Adams holy Trinity,” Adams wrote. “Watch out for the plague of locus’ tomorrow.”
