Sir Mick Jagger allegedly bisexual as new book claims he had affairs with Rolling Stones bandmates
A new book which lists the Rolling Stones’ lovers over the years suggests Mick Jagger allegedly had a fling with two members of his band.
The Stone Age by author Lesley-Ann Jones calls for the world to re-assess Jagger as a “bisexual icon”.
In the book, the acclaimed music journalist suggests Jagger had flings with Keith Richards and guitarist Mick Taylor, who was part of the Stones from 1969 to 1974.
A lengthy appendix, dedicated to listing lovers taken by the Stones over the years, includes Jagger’s alleged liaison with David Bowie, as well as an alleged affair with Austrian actor Helmut Berger.
Jones quotes interviews with former lovers of the Stones, including Richard’s ex Anita Pallenberg and Jagger’s previous partner, Marianne Faithfull. Interviews with the pair note Jagger and Richards were allegedly attracted to each other, The Daily Mail claims.
Pallenberg is reported as saying: “From when I first met them, I saw Mick was in love with Keith.”
Faithfull noted: “I had an inkling that there was a sexual undercurrent between them. I knew in some part of my head that Mick was bisexual.”
‘In bed with Mick Jagger’
The book also features an interview with Paul Levett, who allegedly sat with Taylor’s former wife Rose Millar at a party.
Levett claims she told him she “found her husband in bed with Mick Jagger”.
“Why would she say such a thing to me, if she had not seen it with her own eyes?”
Allegations of a romance between Jagger and Taylor have circulated before, and in her new work Jones references a 2012 book by Christopher Anderson, in which he wrote that member’s of the bands caught the pair “dozing in bed together”.
In 2010, Richards and Jagger fell out after Richards claimed in his memoir, Life, that Jagger had a “tiny todger”. The story made national headlines, but three years later the pair made up, following Richards apologising so the Rolling Stones could go back on tour.
Jagger is also thought to be a RuPaul Drag Race fan as he apparently attended a Chicago gay bar for a performance from former stars on the show.
Spokespeople for Jagger, Richards and Taylor did not provide The Daily Mail with comment.
