Rihanna ‘to make musical comeback on Black Panther 2 soundtrack’
Rihanna has reportedly recorded two songs for the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.
Fans have been clamouring for new music since Rihanna’s last album, Anti, came out in January 2016.
For the past six years she has focussed on her beauty empire, Fenty Beauty, and her underwear linem Savage x Fenty, despite teasing new songs in 2021.
The drought was broken with the news Rihanna will be headlining the Super Bowl halftime show in February 2023 – and now, it seems the comeback is in full effect.
Hits Daily Double reported: “Much chatter indicates that Rihanna has recorded two songs for the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.
“The original Black Panther, which arrived in multiplexes in 2018, spawned an original-score release as well as a smash “inspired by” album.
“Insiders say the sequel will follow suit, with music dropping via Marvel/Disney and Westbury Road/Roc Nation/Def Jam, the latter due to Rihanna’s involvement.”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever dropped its official trailer on 3 October, with Michaela Coel confirming shortly after that her character in the film is queer.
Coel will be joining the Black Panther sequel in the role of Aneka, who in the comics is queer and has a romance with fellow warrior Ayo (played by Florence Kasumba).
She has since confirmed Aneka’s sexuality will be part of the film, telling Vogue: “That sold me on the role, the fact that my character’s queer.”
The actor, who is British-Ghanaian, added that she believed the LGBTQ+ storyline was especially important for Ghanaian audiences, as the country is currently debating a bill that could “criminalise almost every aspect of LGBT+ life”.
She said: “That’s why it felt important for me to step in and do that role because I know just by my being Ghanaian, Ghanaians will come.”
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will come to cinemas on 11 November.
