11 best celeb Halloween costumes from Lizzo’s Marge Simpson to Stranger Things’ ‘Vecnussy’

Celebrities at Halloween 2022

It’s that spooky time of year when our favourite celebrities dress up in wacky and wild outfits to celebrate Halloween – and in 2022, they have not disappointed.

During a weekend of festivities, from Stranger Things tributes to Pamela Anderson and Marge Simpson, here is a round up of the most iconic celebrity Halloween outfits that absolutely slayed.

JoJo Siwa as Draco Malfoy

JoJo Siwa definitely met the freaky Halloween criteria, dressing up as an incredibly unnerving Draco Malfoy.

To top off the outfit, they uploaded several videos to their TikTok of them lipsyncing some of Malfoy’s most memorable lines. Of course, there was huge praise for Siwa.

Lizzo as Marge Simpson

Adding to the very long list of iconic moments Lizzo has pulled off this year, including playing James Madison’s 200-year-old flute – she dressed up in two different Halloween outfits.

Firstly as the kid in the viral ‘I want to kill my mom, I want to kill my dad’ video.

And then as the iconic Marge Simpson – with a photoshoot to show off the fabulous look.

Hayley Kiyoko as Velma

After Scooby-Doo‘s Velma was confirmed a canon lesbian earlier this year, lesbian singer Hayley Kiyoko celebrated the news, having previously played her in live action films .

It seems Kiyoko still has a lot of love for the character, with her and her girlfriend dressing up as Velma and Daphne for Halloween and having the world’s most adorable photos to go along with it.

Rebel Wilson as Barbie

Rebel Wilson got together with her gang to dress up as packaged up Barbie dolls, and shared photos with the caption: “Come on Barbies, let’s go party”.

Janelle Monae as Diva Plavalaguna

Janelle Monae paid tribute to the iconic 1997 sci-fi creature, Diva Plavalaguna from The Fifth Element, with her very blue get up.

Diva appears in the movie’s most memorable scene where she operatically sings to a packed audience at a theatre.

And it was a challenge Monáe rose to, uploading her own video of her singing her own iconic version of Beyoncé’s “Alien Superstar”.

She then captioned her photos: “It’s Halloween and I’m in M Y  E L E M E N T.”

Joey Jay as Vecna from Stranger Things

Of course what Halloween is complete without someone dressing up as a Stranger Things villain and who better to go as than queer icon Vecna.

RuPaul’s Drag Race season 13 star Joey Jay delivered, doing an outfit reveal to the song, you guessed it, “Alien Superstar”. And writing the caption: “I am 001. I’m the only 001. Vecnussy. Alien Superstar.”

Eugene Lee Yang as Vecna (pt.2)

Try Guys star Eugene Lee Yang also decided to embody the spirit of Vecnussy with some seriously sick prosthetics. And then switched it up.
