A man who is wanted in connection with the murder of two gay men in Seattle has finally been arrested in New Jersey.

Police in Seattle, Washington have been seeking Ali Muhammed Brown, 30, in connection with the double murder of Ahmed Said, 27, and Dwone Anderson-Young, 23, on June 1.

He was also wanted in connection with a carjacking and armed robbery in New Jersey.

The Star-Ledger reports that police tracked him to a location on Mount Pleasant Avenue, New Jersey, and arrested him late on Friday afternoon.

The man, who is also facing a charge of failing to register as a sex offender, is currently in Essex County Jail, and was arrested ‘without incident’ in the raid.

It is possible that Brown targeted the two Seattle men through a gay hookup app, with a friend of the victims telling investigators they were using Grindr or Jack’d on the evening of their death.

The murders have been described as “extremely violent, senseless and seemingly unprovoked”, with police investigating whether to treat them as a hate crime

Senior Deputy Prosecutor Wyman Yip wrote previously: “The evidence from the crime scene, Said’s vehicle, and the autopsies suggest that the victims were essentially executed.”
