Lancashire police say ‘no action’ over leaflets comparing gays to paedophiles
Leaflets comparing homosexuality to paedophilia have now appeared in Lancashire, following a pride event in Preston – although police are still saying no offence has been committed.
It was just one of a string of towns where similar leaflets describing homosexalism as a “cult” have been distributed, also surfacing in Cambridge in April, in Brighton last month, in Stoke-on-Trent earlier this month, and in Lincoln and Leicestershire last week.
According to the BBC, Lancashire Constabulary said it was trying to find out who delivered the leaflets so officers could speak to them.
A spokesman said: “We are aware of a number of leaflets that have been distributed, but at this stage we are satisfied that no offences have been committed, although we do recognise that some people may have found the content offensive and upsetting.
“We have completed a number of incident reports and we will continue to monitor the situation and hopefully identify the individuals responsible for delivering them with a view to discussing the impact the leaflets have had.”
Additionally, while a man distributing the leaflets was spoken to by police earlier this month in Stoke-on-Trent, the Crown Prosecution Service decided not to take action.
One of the leaflets previously obtained reads in part: “The practice of homosexuality is both blasphemy against God and rebellion against nature.
“It [is] abundantly evident that a penis is made for a vagina, and not for an anus. An anus is in fact designed solely for defecation.
“Homosexuality, as well as being a sin and a vice, is essentially a neurosis, a pathological condition, the result of several factors including childhood experiences.
“Homosexualism has become a cult, and by the indoctrination of school children and regular propaganda through the media, it seeks converts.
“If the practice of homosexuality is acceptable, then in time any form of sexual deviation, perversion and experimentation will be acceptable, including the progressive lowering of the age of consent, taking it below the age of puberty, and thus legalizing paedophilia.”
