Every Avengers: Infinity War character is bisexual, according to fans

When Avengers: Infinity War hits cinemas in a few short weeks, dozens of superheroes will attempt to stop intergalactic dictator Thanos from destroying Earth and the very bonds of existence.

And all of them are bisexual, apparently.

Promotional shots released ahead of the blockbuster that’s been 10 years in the making seem to imply as much, with their copious amounts of bisexual lighting.

That’s right, bisexual lighting.

It’s been used in Hollywood blockbusters like Marvel’s Black Panther, Atomic Blonde and Logan.

Singer, actress and general icon Janelle Monáe also had it in the video for her new sexually charged bi anthem, Make Me Feel, in which she flirts outrageously with – coincidentally – Marvel actress Tessa Thompson, who starred in Thor: Ragnarok.

As you can see above, when producers use pink, purple and blue hues to make their stars shine, you’ve got bisexual lighting – and that’s exactly what Marvel has chosen to do.

This is of course because the bi flag is pink, purple and blue.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA - JUNE 09: People marching with anBi, a bisexual organization, carry a bisexual flag in the 43rd L.A. Pride Parade on June 9, 2013 in West Hollywood, California. More than 400,000 people are expected to attend the parade in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities. (Photo by David McNew/Getty Images)

Just like these stars, every single superhero in the new Avengers film is bathed in bi lights in the newly released images.

Fans have noticed – and they love it.

“Is it just me or are the #Avengers #InfinityWar posters bi-colouring/bi-lighting and bi-aesthetic?! #bisexual,” one person wrote.

Another more enthusiastic fan said: “I JUST REALISED THAT ALL THE AVENGERS ARE IN BISEXUAL LIGHTING. TWENTYGAYTEEN STILL GIVIN”.

It’s good to know that people are aware of this year’s true name.

One person wrote simply: “every avenger that has the purple and pink light behind them they’re bisexual.”

And another happy fan tweeted: “bold move making every Avenger bisexual, Marvel. but hey I’ll accept this new canon tyvm”.

There were some excellent GIFs, of course.

And there is some beautiful bi pride flying around.

One person said: “Lots of bisexual lighting for the avengers posts and I f**king love it.”

Another wrote: “so you’re telling me they confirmed EVERY SINGLE AVENGER as bisexual? finally some good f**king food”.

And one more tweeted: “The Avengers are all in bisexual lighting, each and every one of them is bisexual now, sorry heteros I don’t make the rules”.

Seems fair.

The phenomenon of bisexual lighting has experienced a surge in popularity over the past few years.

Demi Lovato, who has said she is open to dating women, used bi lights in her 2015 bi anthem Cool for the Summer.

The CW and Netflix’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s bisexual hero Darryl Whitefeather used the lighting scheme in his incredibly catchy coming out song, Gettin’ Bi.

Black Mirror’s award-winning episode San Junipero had some fun with bi lighting.

And British singer Dodie has been proudly displaying her sexuality through lighting for ages.

Here’s hoping that Marvel is doing the same with its many, many superheroes.
